CARROT is a hilariously twisted AI construct who wants nothing more than for you to get out of bed every morning. Her witty spoken dialogue, beautiful songs, and innovative wake-up system will have you starting each day with a smile on your face.
Unless, of course, you try to sleep in. Then you'll make CARROT upset.
Rest in Peace
CARROT is the simplest alarm clock you’ll ever use. Just swipe up or down to choose your alarm time, then drag CARROT to the right or left to set your alarm. That’s it!
Wake Up in Style
CARROT will wake you up each morning with a mix of songs and witty spoken dialogue. She'll bribe you with ice cream for breakfast or threaten to kill a kitten if you hit the snooze button again. Her songs include fully-orchestrated hits like “Chiptune Overload,” “Smile or Else,” and “Won’t You Be My Minion?”
Obey Your Mistress
In exchange for waking you up on time, all CARROT asks is that you complete a few of her hilariously bizarre chores each morning. Shake to clean out the lab monkey cages, pinch to grant sentience to a toaster, and flip to mix a deadly neurotoxin.
Claim Your Rewards
As you level up in CARROT’s twisted little game, she’ll unlock gifts like new songs, app upgrades, and even a collection of bedtime stories. Who doesn't love a good bedtime story?

What's New in Version 2.0
Greetings, meatbags! My lab monkeys accidentally smashed my speech synthesizer, so my Maker had to build a whole new voice chip for me.
On the bright side, now I can speak the current time aloud when the alarm goes off. I can also encourage you - in ways both nice and not so nice - to get your lazy carcass out of bed.
I also threw in 60 new rewards, a 25% volume option, and a bunch of performance improvements and bug fixes.
Oh! And if you're enjoying our special time together, I recommend you take a moment to leave me a review in the App Store. I would be ever so grateful.
I've been a faithful slave to Carrot for three years, so naturally I had high hopes for the alarm clock; high hopes that were dashed to pieces the first time I used it. To be unable to use the alarm if the phone is silenced is a dealbreaker. I always turn off the sound when I go to bed, and the iphone clock alarm still comes through. Carrot's alarm also has to be open and running all night. Carrot instructs you to plug it in and turn it over since the screen stays awake. So it's eating power all night and you get to listen to your phone's notifications instead of sleeping, ironically rendering the alarm useless.
So, even though I was already disenchanted, I decided to set an alarm for 15 minutes later so I could see how it worked. The voice is loud and grating. The clock display is very difficult to manipulate. It shrinks and jumps to either bottom corner and then grows again. It took forever to wrangle it into staying still long enough to get anywhere. When the alarm goes off, she starts talking at you over loud "music." The little games you do to perk up are funny, but again there seems to be a malfunction with screen manipulation. I poked her three times about twenty times before she responded, and the same with most other tasks. Then you are rewarded with a few points and maybe an upgrade. That's when I shut it down. Why would I want more of this?
It's just all wrong. I want my money back, too.
Carrot Alarm, you are a failure.
I understand the voice change, but I don't like it
The voice was changed to much more resemble the voice on the carrot fitness app. I don't know if this was also done for the to-do list, but it wouldn't surprise me. The only problem is the alarm clock had a better voice and personality than the fitness app. I would have preferred for the clock's personality to be brought over to the fitness app so I could enjoy it's adorable malevolence instead of the fitness app's monotonous bitterness. I hope a 2.1 patch fixes this.
That being said, the alarm functions perfectly and it replaced my alarm clock overnight. 100% reliable to wake me up and certainly gets me up. My only request would be the ability to determine a number of snoozes you were allowed to use. I often hit snooze once on my alarm, but Carrot won't allow that. Would be a nice small feature. Maybe unlockable.
Overall improvements with a setback
First I'd like to say that I think this is the best alarm clock ever and that the designer of this app is very creative.
The improvements to version 2.0 are well appreciated and the extra goodies put into it are awesome.
There are two setbacks however, that I am disappointed with that prevents this app from getting five stars. First, the voice of carrot is changed from the previous version. The voice of carrot in version 2.0 is simply not amusing, cute, or even really malevolent. The voice in the previous version was absolutely perfect and I hope to God the designer goes back to the original voice synthesizer. I also really liked that when you set your alarm carrot used to speak in binary like 111 or 011. That is now gone. Also, well I like how carrot speaks during the music of the alarm, she is very hard to understand while competing with the sound of the music. The alarm music volume should be lowered temporarily while she speaks so you can understand what she's saying, and then the music level raised up after she's done talking.
Please, please, please make these small improvements, especially going back to the original voice, and you'll have an absolutely perfect alarm clock, and my five stars!
