How To Scan Secret Life Of Pets Toys!

I spent many frustrating minutes attempting to scan 4 of these toys for my son, however I finally figured it out and wanted to share my process in the hope that I can possibly save you fellow reader some time and frustration. I experimented with many different variables such as lightning, angle, background and sistance. So in order to scan these Secret Life of Pets Toys I recommend you use a decent overhead light, like your kitchen lights for example but no extra lighting such as lamps. Next, don't set the toy on a table, it'll never work; instead, you should just hold the toy with your thumb and index finger. Finally, activate the scanner and just hold the toy up about 8 inches from the lens AND MANIPULATE THE TOY UNTIL IT FITS THE ORIENTATION OF AND WITHIN THE LINES OF THE IMAGE ON THE SCREEN! The scanner is extremely reactive and in reverse as well as at a funky angle, so it took me a bit to get used to adjusting the toy properly. I can now scan a new toy in roughly 20-30 seconds, consistently. I hope this helps, happy scanning!

Get your act together.

Failing at scanning the toys is easily forgiven. Not even attempting to fix this in an update is less forgivable.

And now we've got our update, and the only thing that has changed is the same problem now affects a new series of toys.

Add this to the fact that older games are deleted without warning, and no archive of them is available, and you've got a real problem considering the audience for this game is VERY young. Take a look at the height limit for PlayPlace sometime. That's who we're buying these toys for - children 3 to 6 years old. Color me old-fashioned, but I don't think kids this young should be subjected to periodic unwanted lessons about the ephemeral quality of the cloud, or reminded once a month that nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.

This app is worthless.

This app does NOT work. I'm doing everything as specified on the directions, and it just keeps scanning. Why would I want to keep an app that causes aggravation and headaches because I have to listen to my kids cry when the stupid app won't work? Since McDonald's want to keep advertising it despite its flaws, I guess I will have to avoid McDonald's so my kids won't see it and want to use it. Oral B's app has product recognition that works if the product is anywhere on the screen. Is McDonald's so hard up that they can't provide an advertising app that doesn't make parents loathe them?
