Cute presentation, terrible gameplay
Brick Roll looks colorful and fun at first, but the gameplay has absolutely no flow. You will often be disoriented and unsure of what you may be missing. Beating the time challenges for even the first couple levels are frustratingly hard.
When jumping, you will never be immediately sure which direction you'll be going. Attacking even more frustrating when trying to line up with a baddie going the opposite direction on an opposing platform. The challenge is there, but it's worthless without the fun.
The game takes a lot from Super Meat Boy, especially when hitting a portal to the retro world. This would be a good thing, but it feels more of a rip off than a homage.
Above all, the game just isn't satisfying or rewarding at all. Certainly not enough to play past even the second level, though I did regrettably torture myself a few more levels waiting for some redeeming value in this game. Nope.
Always a fan of Gavina games, and this is another great one. Easy to pick up and play, and enough going on to be hard to put down.
Really cool retro game
Very nice back-to-basics visual and musical style. Really clever and fun mix of puzzles and platformers. Love the disorientation you get sometimes when trying to move your brick. Easy to pickup but tough to master!
