Fun game but needs to fix the fighting
Very fun game. I enjoy playing it. Do not like how you can only upgrade one thing at a time though. Be nice to be able to do 2 things at once. The other thing that I dislike about this game is how you get paired with other players. I'm a 24 and every one around me are in there 30's really. I can't fight that. There is a 38 that is on my map. Okay!! And I constantly get attacked by people that are 8 levels ahead of me. Not fun when I'm trying to save up resources to upgrade something then boom that happens. Be nice if you got paired with people your skill level like +/- 2 or 3 ahead or below you. Be so much better. But other than that. I do enjoy this game. I also think it should separate the people that pay money and the people that do not pay money into different groups. The people that pay money needs to play people that pay money to upgrade stuff. And the people that play the game that don't pay money need to be in a group who only play people that don't pay money. Gives you an unfair advantage. A very fun game but I absolutely hate the Warriors how they can just use smoke run up to the building and in 3 hits destroy everything. That takes ZERO SKILL. Please fix that. It’s not even fun when that happens and I kill none of them. If you fix that would make the game so much better.
Very fun, but needs these things
This game is very fun (haven't spent a dime on it either) and within a few months I managed to reach level 22. Now, I do have a couple complaints that I think the dev team needs to fix. First and foremost is the matchmaking and league system. You can't put level 30+ on a level 20 something player's Archipelago expecting them to be able to beat this level 30 or 40 player opposing them. At one point I had a level 57 on my map and was furious. Thinking "Well they are the same rank as you, so they'll be put here because we want them to be put here." My second suggestion is to add a "revenge" option and go on a retaliatory strike against whomever raided you. Finally, please please PLEASE nerf (or tone damage down, for those noobs reading this for tips) the DPS (Damage Per Second for the noobs) of the Machine Gun. It gets a bit hard to kill off enemy buildings when you have a level 5 MG taking down level 3 warriors.
Feels like bait and switch
Game starts out extremely fun but after a few weeks falls apart.
Eventually your VP gets to a point where you can only attack 1-2 bases a day. Everybody else will simply be WAY too strong.
There's too many resources. This game has 4 different resources just for upgrading buildings. Eventually you hit resource hell where you are short one of two. If you try to save up you get raided and lose your savings. Likewise due to level differences your defenses will be mostly useless. Defense and match making are so poor a valid strategy is to ignore defense all together because overleveled opponents will steam roll you regardless.
All that leaves is boring repetitive npc bases and ops.
There's a lot of great strategies in this game but slow leveling I'm the armory guarantees you won't be able to try them without committing a massive amount of time or money.
All of these factors combine to create an experience that actually punishes you for playing.
And in typical mobile game fashion all of that can be fixed by throwing a mountain of money at the game. I'm all for supporting developer and even subscribed to endless reserves and extra builder but the value to fun is just not there. No thanks supercell
