Rapid pick up great...when accurate


First, rapid pick up is an excellent concept. Love it, I’m busy and hate waiting so appreciate it very much. However my meal has been incorrect at least 4 times that I can think of using rapid pickup. This is a problem because now I’ve left the restaurant with the wrong order and don’t discover the mistake until I’ve served at my destination. Today I got the Greek goddess salad, I had selected to add Gorgonzola cheese, and it is not on the salad. I paid extra for the cheese I’m sure, and it is on the receipt but not on my salad.

Another visit I ordered the Napa almond chicken salad sandwich. They gave me a turkey sandwich!!! I was NOT happy. So much so that I called the restaurant to complain and wanted my money back. The manager said she could not give my money back but next time I’m in find her and I’ll get a free sandwich. Great. But not a solution to my wrong meal!!

Overall love rapid pick up. I do peak inside the bag now to see if the food looks approximately correct, without undoing all the wrapping. But panera needs to work on quality control. I always see someone at the counter checking the food. But not sure how well they are checking!!!!!

Brandy at Panera Staff at Cape Coral Florida


Brandy is one of the employees at Panera Bread in Cape Coral Florida in the Northeast Pine Island branch. I thought Brandy is a very pleasant warming person with a great greeting smile whenever I say hello to her. She is well uniformed with a bonnet around her hair which is the proper way to do whenever a staff is handling any type of food preparation. Although the other staff wear ponytails, the hair is still hanging and it can drop during food preparation. Which is a “no no” in any food facilities. Wearing a hair bonnet is the best way to go.

The egg white croissant sandwich that Brandy prepares is always good to perfection. It never fails! The croissant is never burnt or over toasted which happened during my other visits when she’s off. The avocado is always fresh , it’s nice and green and never brown around it. Whenever I see the avocado on my sandwich that has turned brown around it, that means it’s been sitting longer out in the open air! Thanks to Brandy it never happens when she’s working that day! Brandy cares about her work for she delivers superb quality and great customer satisfaction and for that she deserves an excellent review.

Major difference between online experience and in store experience


There’s a major disconnect between the experience in store and online with panera. In store you can customize your food however you want and you can use multiple rewards at the same time. Neither of these is a feature in the app or on the website. Want steak on the bbq flatbread instead of chicken? Can’t do it on the app, only roasted turkey is available to substitute. Want bacon on your Baja Mac and cheese? Can’t do it... they don’t have any customizable options for the Mac and cheeses... Have a dollar off a pick two and a dollar off a sandwich and a dollar off a soup you want to use? Sorry, can only do the dollar off the pick two. They won’t even let you use the dollar off a sandwich unless it’s not on a pick two! All of these things I can do in the store. There is no excuse for not being able to do these on the app or website. If they want to take away these options in store, ok I’ll accept that, as long as their customer experience is consistent between the store and online. Panera, aka Saint Louis Bread Co (as they should be calling themselves), is better than this and I’m extremely shocked at just how different these experiences are. I don’t know a single other restaurant or store that is so different like this.
