Not a good game

I was hoping for a good naval combat simulator similar to pacific fleet but instead I got this. The controls are horrible. Aim by rubbing on one side of the screen and steer by rubbing on the other side. The aiming is fiddly and the steering is near impossible to do anything other than 90 degree turns. There are no options to change any of this, and no way to change stop, reverse, or even slow down. The gameplay is bad as well. You simply fight against a steadily growing number of ships to upgrade yours. Fighting involves no skill, you just point and shoot in a straight line. No elevation, wind or anything, not to mention the fact that every gun has a 360 degree arc of fire. For aa you just push a button to fire missiles. There is no feedback on whether you are being hit, just explosion effects near your ship. There is no way to tell how much damage you have taken other than some smoke. Boring gameplay and progression plus horrible controls make this one to avoid. The second star is solely for the fairly pretty graphics. In short avoid this game if you are at all looking for some sort of naval combat simulation. For that I would suggest pacific fleet, a far superior game.

I will say this about the game it is fun and entertaining however, this game is definitely geared and designed to make you purchase more credits. For example as each level progresses the game obviously gets a little bit more difficult to beat...duh right?? As you win each level you are give a certain amount of credits to purchase more defenses and upgrades that you may use towards upgrading your ship. The idea is to hold on to your money and win as much as you can with out making any upgrades towards your ship...well guess what? It doesn't work that way! You need to spend money to really get the ship you want. The developers have designed the game to entice the user to spend rather than use what's given to you. It's an unfair way to screw the user over, I know it's not cheap to develop these games but this is not the way to create a game!

Tried to be opened minded

Person In Room

Got to Stage 5 mission 6 before I got really frustrated. I'm trying to be open minded about the game, but, after breaking down and spending five bucks on points, and still not being able to get past this mission, it's difficult. When you get to the point that you allow your ship to get blown up just to collect the "losers" points, you realize game play might be broken.

Your success at the difficult levels is also very dependent on luck, and initial enemy ship placement. If the fleet materializes right around you, you will die. If not, you fight a running battle. You might win that battle. Well, you have a chance to win, until you run into the invisible wall, a wall who's sole purpose seems to be to try and force you to spend more money. I like to think of it as the ka-ching wall, the sound the of all the money the developers hope to make!

In my opinion a paid game should be winnable without spending extra. At this point I don't think this game can be. I gave 2 stars because it was fun for a while.
