Redacted makes it quick and easy to redact parts of an image. Hide sensitive details of an image by simply clicking and dragging. You can redact an image in three different ways:

• Pixelate
• Blur
• Black bar

Quickly import an image into Redacted or simply paste an image to get going. When you're done, share it to Facebook, Twitter, and more with iOS's share menu or simply copy the image out of Redacted.

Note: Redacted doesn't support PDFs yet.

Could be way better

I don’t mean to be harsh, but have you used tested this app at all? It is impossible to use effectively on a mobile device with the current UX. As others have mentioned, you can’t zoom an image to make selections easy, and flipping to landscape mode distorts the image proportions (that needs to be fixed ASAP). Trying to select a region to blur is friggin impossible since you have to use two tiny fingers to drag and tryin to move a selection frequently causes you to miss and start a new blurred region on accident. Sure I can shake it to redo if I inevitably mess up (it’s too easy to do), but it would be much easier and better designed for mobile with specific buttons and modes for draw/move. Lock me in to a mode so I know what I’m doing with each gesture and give me more tools to draw and move.

No second chances, only occasionally works

It'd be a nice app if it had a couple key fixes. First of all, you need an undo button. Having to close and reopen, losing everything when you make a mistake, is absurd. What is this, a typewriter? Secondly, it just doesn't work at all at least half the time. Tap to start the box and.... nothing. Repeat. Nothing. Change to another type... once in awhile that works, but usually... nope. Close, reopen, click somewhere random to test - oh now it works?? Close and reopen because there is no undo button, and guess what.... it doesn't work again. And finally, the ability to zoom would be a very helpful touch. But not if the rest doesn't work.

You can undo by doing the standard system shake to undo. On iPad with a keyboard connected, you can also press Command-Z. I can assure you it is not a typewriter :)

I'm not sure why it's not working sometimes. I'll investigate this!

This is the original. Don't be fooled by copycats

There is a copycat version floating around, which is super sketchy. This is the original. Support this indie developer.

The app is simple and gets the job done. Worth the money if you need this functionality even every now and then.

I agree with the comments about needing undo, but not going to knock stars bc of it.
