Highly Recommended

The Dallas/Ft. Worth area band, Venure, headed by vocalist/guitarist Blake Self has come a long way since their humble beginnings in early 2004. The band had a serious mindset even in the early days, determined to make an impact and get their word out, as evidenced by songs such as Fallen Angel, one of their first recordings which takes an in-depth look at our country’s current state of turmoil. This isn’t to say that this is the only track worth listening to; not by any means, every song is full of killer drum beats, meaningful lyrics, and out of this world guitar playing. This band, while still youthful by the standards of some, will be one to keep an eye on in the coming days. Get this album while you can because one day it will be a collector.

their mini ep release "pull the trigger" will simply blow you away. i've worked with the band many times in many situations and i can tell you that i've been there since day 1 and they just keep getting better and better. blake self's songwriting skills have improved with each release they put out, and they're not afraid to go into the studio and ensure the quality is there as well. if you're looking for a good rock sound that doesn't play games, mess around, and will have you singing it even when it's not on, pick up some venture.

Not only is this album incredible, but so is this band. This is NOT another over-produced group of guys out of LA. They are just as incredible live as they are on this album. The lead singer is incredibly talented and has to be one of the most genuine badass guys around. Everyone should have this album in their collection. Call your local radio stations and tell them to put this band into rotation, go see their shows and support this awesome band filled with true talent – a band who made it on their own, not because of who they know or the money in their pockets.
