This CD is so dope, Ice T bought 3 copies!!

This album is so flippin' insane you'll have to wear a straight-jacket just to listen to it! After this one-of-a-kind group gets a hold of you, you will undoubtedly scale the heights of your nearest, Sovereign Light Cafe and caterwaul, "despondency is a thing of comeliness!" followed by, "dysphoria has a drum-beat!"
No joke, this album is so "super" it can leap from tall buildings and only need band-aids on the backside. Seriously people,...lend me your ears and KEANE your wallets......this CD is so dope, Ice T bought three copies! It's so "Fresh" it turns moldy after one week if you don't buy it.

"The Starting Line" will stop your heart. "Black Rain" will turn your deep greens and blues into dancing shoes! "In Your Own Time" will make you pee yourself and forget who you are for thirty minutes!
Trust me, you don't simply "listen" to Keane or "Catch" Keane on the radio......no, no, no my friend. You "Experience" KEANE! You are moved by Keane! You are never the same if you know what I mean Keane!

Someone once told me, "I love it when sad songs are dressed up as happy ones."

Guess what, here on Keane's new outing, entitled, 'Strangeland' there are twelve-plus songs, all sad and dressed in happy-drag!

Like Ice T, I'm getting 3 copies!!

Ugh

Just too cheesy, it all sounds the same. They lost that cool almost atmospheric sound they had on Under The Iron Sea.

Keane's Comfort Zone

Imagine If you took The Iron Sea and Hopes and Fears, mixed them together, and then added two cups of water: that's what Strangeland is. I support anything KEANE does because they're a great band, and my favorite albums by theirs are Perfect Symmetry (if I want a bit more energy) and Under the Iron Sea (a bit more melancholic). This album is good, and it's that KEANE sound that we all love. But they are pushing NO boundaries whatsoever. All these songs are very predictable piano pop aside from a few tracks (such as Black Rain). They rely too much on simple chord progressions instead of instrument parts, hooks, and riffs. KEANE has pushed the boundaries with every release they put out, but they stopped here. It's almost like they got bored. Some may disagree, and that's fine. While this album is KEANE and good, it also is quite stale. It does not hold a candle to ANY of their other efforts.

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Keane's piano-driven pop/rock is created by vocalist Tom Chaplin, drummer Richard Hughes, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, three childhood friends from the small town of Battle in East Sussex, England. Formed in 1997, the group started out as a college-aged cover band. Guitarist Dominic Scott was also part of this early incarnation, having previously played cover songs with Hughes and Rice-Oxley in a band named the Lotus Eaters. Keane toured the East Sussex circuit for several years while internalizing...
