iTunes Review

“Shorty, I ain’t got no game,” R&B hip-hopper Ne-Yo sings on “I Ain’t Gotta Tell You That,” working it even as he denies it. The latest, and one of the best, in a long row of artists melding luscious soul verities with boomin’-system beats, the singer multitracks himself into a vocal orchestra; the result is an album that pays off from end to end. Ne-Yo spins line after line, each a little worn and each freshened by his sensual, witty approach. He’s “So Sick” of love songs that remind him of you, loves the sex that happens “When You’re Mad,” wants to do it in front of the “Mirror,” “Ain’t Gotta Tell You” how fine you are ’cause he knows you hear it all the time. A boyishly raised eyebrow helps get him over, while never obscuring the beauty of this music.

I am speechless...welcome back R&B...

I love hip-hop, and many forms of musical expression. But I miss good ole' R&B. Ne-Yo has brought back wonderful lyrics, great music, and the feeling of being engrossed in an album. I must say that "When Your Mad" is on repeat. His adoration of women is refreshing...not just about our bodies, but more. He has skills. He paints a wonderful picture...one of familiarity, one of love, one of longing, and most of all a picture of GOOD MUSIC. I hope he ushers in a new era in music. Back to the Basics. BUY THIS ALBUM. You won't regret it.

NE YO GOTZ SKILLZ

He posses a talent that many other artists do not have and thats what pulls him over the top.

From the First to the last..

Each track tells a unique story that some how all comes together with memorable hooks and melodies. I have not enjoyed an entire album like this since Confessions. Tracks like "Sign Me Up" and "When Your Mad" will make an girl fall for this modern day Cassanova. And with wisdom beyond his years, he reimnds us to make a point of making our lovers feel special in "Time". If he keep going like this he will surpass the likes of Chris Brown, Mario, Omarion and dare I say Usher. Bravo, Ne-Yo, Bravo!

Ne-Yo was one of the most successful songwriters and artists of the 2000s. His breakthrough didn't come until late 2004, as the co-songwriter of Mario's "Let Me Love You," a number one Hot 100 hit that Billboard later determined to be the eighth most successful single of the decade. By the close of 2009, however, Ne-Yo had racked up a career's worth of accomplishments. He released three albums, all of which went platinum in the United States. Seven of his singles, as well as five on which he appeared...
