The Defenders is a drama about two colorful Las Vegas defense attorneys who go all-in when it comes to representing their clients. Nick and Pete are the local go-to guys with an eclectic client list who are still looking to hit their own jackpot. Leading the law firm of Morelli & Kaczmarek are Nick Morelli, an earnest, hard-charging attorney who represents his clients to the best of his ability, no matter how big or small the case; and his partner, Pete Kaczmarek, whose passion for the law is matched only by his love of fast cars, beautiful women and expensive clothes. Joining them in their growing law practice is new associate Lisa Tyler, an enthusiastic young attorney looking to put her exotic dancing days behind her; and their young assistant, Sophie, a spunky and sweet ingenue who is eager to please her bosses. While Lady Luck shines on their legal careers, the partners have their hands full when it comes to their personal lives. With Pete busy cruising the Vegas Strip for his latest romantic conquest, Nick is focused on repairing a fractured marriage to his estranged wife and remaining present in the life of their young son. No matter the offense, Nick and Pete aim to prove that when the stakes are high, they're willing to bet the house on the clients they defend in Sin City.

Surprising, in several ways!
I watched the pilot and before it started didn't honestly know what to expect. For me the pilot started out somewhat "slowly" and I definitely didn't know if I was going to like it or not. But then it started getting better and better and better! By the end of that first show I definitely knew it had potential!
Tonight I watched the second episode...it was much more obvious how well Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell work together and play off each other. The storylines are good too. Tonight, when the credits were running, I realized I was looking forward to next week's show. I kept thinking that the show was well written and well produced and then I saw it - "A Carol Mendelsohn Production"!! No wonder and no surprise why I liked it. I don't believe I've ever disliked anything her production company has put out. I think this show will keep getting better and better and I'm going to enjoy watching every minute while it does
The Defenders have two good reasons to watch - Belushi & O
Belushi's comedic skills should play nicely with O'Connell's smoldering sexy heat. Both are a joy to watch when producing at the top of their game.
The pilot was a smash hit for me, laughing at all the right places! These two play off each other perfectly ... here's to a long running hit series!
