Black Magic Woman trick

Do not get the short version of "Black Magic Woman." (It's 3:15) Get the live version that is over 5 minutes and has his awesome guitar solo unlike the other short one.

A Good Appetizer

This is good if you're looking for a sampler of the early hits, but since 1/2 the songs are from Abraxas, go ahead and check that album out (it's got the full BM Woman/Gypsy Queen tune).

all the classics, however...

this album has all the great tunes from carlos santana except black magic woman. the short version is lame. the true version of the song has an exciting fast lively ending that really contrasts to the smooth slow latin that santana perfected. i would say get the album, but buy the true long version too. the live cut is allright, but i like the guitar solo on the studio version a little better.
