iTunes Review

Fitz & The Tantrums are on a serious roll. The pop-soul outfit moves the needle with each album and their self-titled release has even more kinetic energy and savvy hooks. “Roll Up,” “HandClap,” “Burn it Down,” and “Run It” live up to earlier nitro-powered singles like “The Walker” and “Out of My League”—proof that this band is built for the long run.

HandClap what a Catchy Funky song!!!!

Not their best, but not their worst either.

More Than Just a Dream was undoubtedly my favorite album from this band. It kept the style of their debut with some 80s pop influences mixed in.

This one was, quite frankly, hit or miss for me. While a couple tracks are impressive (namely Burn it Down, HandClap, Fadeback, and Do What You Want), the rest of the album falls a bit short.

I'll continue to support Fitz and the Tantrums, but I think they should stick to the styles of music they were first good at. They're trying a bit too hard to break into the mainstream and it shows.

Love it

They've evolved into a more modern sound, clearly. But I think these songs preserve the integrity of their originality. They're still the same unique group to me.

While recording a solo EP, he recruited an old college friend, James King, to add horn arrangements to the material. The lineup grew from there, with the Tantrums eventually becoming a co-ed septet.
