brilliant

this film brought me to tears and its partially thanks to this absolutely mind-blowing soundtrack. Clint Mansell killed me with the Pi: Faith In Chaos score, drove me mad with the Requiem for A Dream score, and now has brought me to my knees in tears with this absolutely stunning soundtrack. He may be the most ingenious score writer alive at this moment. Check out the Last Man, Tree of Life, Death is the Road To Awe, and Together We Will Live Forever. Clint, don't stop composing. You're too brilliant.

A Hauntingly Beautiful Score

The score to the film The Fountain is one of the best film scores ever written. Better even than Mansell's earlier masterpiece, Requiem for a Dream. This score is epic, reflective, serene, and beautiful. You will not be able to get it out of your head, although to fully feel it's impact, you must see the film, which is, the best film I have ever seen, and I have seen many. I was lucky enough to see an advanced screening at The Chicago International Film Festival, and I have not been able to get it out of my head since. The score is perfect in every sense of the word, it is absolutly beautiful, but at the same time, it's memory, and the themes associated with it, haunt you. So, in conclusion, on a scale of one to ten, The Fountain score is: AMAZING.

Haunting and Transcendent

Clint Mansell has done it again. He never fails to break to mold of film scores. With each of his partnerships with Aronofsky, he has improved immensely. Honestly, no words can truly describe the greatness of this score. Although you may view it as being short in comparison to other film scores, the weight of each track more than makes up for what lacks in length. It would be a great shame to miss this specimen of beauty.

Frontman for the sadly defunct Pop Will Eat Itself, among other things, Clint Mansell (b. January 7, 1963, Coventry, England) has played a lot of music. Affectionately known as Clint Poppie, he started out in 1981, forming a group called From Eden, which included future members of Pop Will Eat Itself, in the English industrial city of Stourbridge. After several years, the band broke up (they argued over who had performed better on The Tube). Mansell, along with future Poppies Adam Mole and Graham...
