Album Review

When it is time to survey the soundscapes and recognize sound design masters, Chaitanya Georg Deuter will be at or near the top of the list. All of his releases have tremendous depth and soul. Garden of the Gods is a masterful arrangement of sounds and music. Annette Cantor is a guest vocalist and her wordless and formless style adds mystique to Deuter's overtone elements. His recording techniques create warm atmospheres that embrace listeners. This overtone treasure is a dynamic healing soundscape. Deuter's stature in the new age music community is secure. This wonderful CD will appeal to fans of Anugama, Xumantra, Jonathan Goldman and Klaus Wiese.

Grounded Love

Deuter and Annette Cantor have created a masterpiece. The album is put together like a symphony, each song supporting the last, and carrying the same tone of awe for all that exists. Annette's voice is amazing. The music is sacred and grounding. I use this music to open my heart when I am feeling disconnected. I use it for yoga and chi gong and meditation. This is one of my all time favorite CDs. Thank you Deuter.

The Garden of the Gods brought back home

I grew up near the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs in the 1960s, before it was a tourist trap, when it's original meaning for the Original Peoples was a Truth for those of us lucky enough to experience the wind in the pines, the softness of the rock formations, the closeness of the sky. It was a place for healing mineral waters and for Plains tribes and Mountain tribes to meet in Peace. Deuter and Cantor have brought back all this meaning in a beautifully composed blend of strength and delicacy. I am so grateful to them for transporting me to a place of homage.

Wow.

Really amazing. I aciddentley just stumbled over this when I was searching, and wow! The songs have so much mystery too them its amazing really theyre all so beautifully made.

Biography

Genre: New Age

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s

Like many artists in the contemporary instrumental realm, Deuter mixes acoustic and electronic instruments, ethnic influences, and sounds from nature -- only he's been doing it since the early '70s. Born in the German village of Falkenhagen, Deuter learned flute and taught himself to play guitar but was discouraged from pursuing music as a career. The trauma of a nearly fatal auto accident in 1970, however, motivated him to pursue his dreams. His first recording, D, was released on Kuckuck in 1971....
