Perhaps the best album of the '90's

You have understand that this music is some of the scariest stuff you will ever hear. I have listened to some pretty extreme music, but this music - with it's mix of grunge noise, soul/R&B leanings, and scabarous soul bearing from Dulli tops all the doom saying metal onslaughts. The Whigs other 2 great albums, Congregation and Black Love, framed relationships in the context of religion and crime, respectively, to pretty devestating effects - but this album is simply about men in relationships whose souls are dark, angry places full of hurt and deception. The one guest singing spot from a woman confirms she is not much better, either. I cannot recommend this album strongely enough, for I believe we all have the darkness within us, and we need to acknowledge it and understand it if we are to reject it. Buy this album, but be prepared to look into your own abyss.

One of all time favorite albums

This albums was one of the best albums I will say I have ever heard

Must buy!

Afghan Whigs are THE most underrated band EVER.. Simply put, you will not regret buying this record. There are no filler songs and the best songwriting ever heard. Be prepared to fall in love with Greg Dulli.

Although the band never broke into the mainstream, they developed a dedicated cult following, primarily because of lead singer/songwriter Greg Dulli's tortured, angst-ridden tales of broken relationships and self-loathing....
