iTunes Review

Opening with the plodding riffs of "Electric Man,” Great Western Valkyrie is the Rival Sons’ biggest and baddest studio effort, a no-holds-barred assault of ‘70s-influenced rock, swirling psychedelia, and overdriven guitars. Tunes like “Secret” and “Play the Fool” are inspired by the muscular, blues-driven bash of Zeppelin and Sabbath, while more solemn moments (“Rich and the Poor,” “Good Things”) are awash in psychedelic guitars and spacey reverb. Vocalist Jay Buchanan offers inspired songwriting and howling intensity throughout—matched at every turn by the fierce guitar work of Scott Holiday.

Unbelievable!!

Every track is amazing! Gets better every time I listen to it. Their best album to date!

HOLY S**t

Never thought I would ever hear the sound that first turned me on to rock and roll when I was twelve years old!!!! Amazing sound!!!!

meh

love this band. they are definitely the resurgence of true rock. but this release is WAY over produced and crashy. too much of a flange effect on the songs..it basically mars what otherwise would be perfection. Too much "white stripes" static....more that than a classic rock vibe, unfortunately.

Shortly after forming, the band self-released its debut, Before the Fire, in 2009, produced...
