Customer Reviews

Nice try iTunes

Now, I will start by saying this album contains a number of great tracks (original radio versions) by the original artists (thumbs up to that), hence my four-star rating. Many of the tracks I like- I ALREADY OWN!!! And that brings me to the problem I have with this particular offering from iTunes. I have been looking for Greg Kihn’s ‘The Breakup Song’ and, unfortunately, the only other offering from iTunes for that title is a very SHODDY remake by Mr. Kihn himself (sorry Greg, honesty IS the best policy, you know). Now I was excited to find the ORIGINAL radio version of GK’s TB/US offered on this soundtrack, but was then TOTALLY disappointed to discover that in order to get the ONE track I want, I have to buy the ENTIRE album. Nunh-Uhh. Not gonna do it iTunes. Not gonna do it. It’s just the principle of the thing. Itunes, you seem to do this sort of thing a lot. There are two sides to every story though and perhaps iTunes can explain, in some venue, why this happens. Are there legal issues with the songs that require you to offer them as a group? Or, is it just pure capitalism at work (In other words: "You want it? We got it. But you gotta buy it on our terms")?

Just want one song!

Don't want the album, just the song Gold by John Stewart. Why do we have to purchase the entire album?

The Groomsmen

With John Stewart's passing today.....the song " Gold " with Stevie Nick's . Will only become more desirious to collector's , of good music . Unfortunately....iTunes chooses to only make it available to it's loyal customers , in conjunction with the " Groomsmen " album . Listened to a multitude of the selections on that album......nothing else I would would even consider purchasing . I guess iTunes would rather make $9.99 , than $.99 . Although......I've bought hundreds of dollars of music off of this site.......just $.99 at a time . And just bought..... my first $9.99 album the other day.....after several years of patronage and loyality to this site . Give us a break......iTunes....!
