we can go sledding if we want to

i think my absolute favorite thing about this CD is that it is guaranteed to put a huge, dopey grin on my face every time it starts. A Great Big Pile of Leaves has this uncanny ability to create these insanely catchy songs - complete with almost humorous, but not to the point of being trivial, lyrics about eating and food in general - but still manage to craft them with such intricacy and poignance.

Pete, the singer/guitarist, is one of the best vocalists in the game right now in my opinion, and he carries so much of the CD. The exaggerated style he possesses just makes you want to sing along to everything; furthermore, he's an extremely talented guitarist who also holds up practically flawless live. The drummer and bassist hold together the rest of the CD quite nicely as well, with the percussion being a high point.

get this album. you deserve it.
