Return of the Queen

Or is it Duchess? Regardless, Ayria really lets loose with this new release. While personally, I prefer "Flicker" to his release, "Hearts for Bullets" by no means is not a GREAT album. The album kicks off with the stellar, fist-to-face stomping grounds of "Bad List." A bad-a** track with lovely lyrics and a killer beat. Following that you have "Insect Calm" and "The Gun Song," both of which are good songs, just not my favorites from this album. "Invisible" is a pretty solid track, the guitar riff being it's true gem. Ah, here we are now, the TRUE GEMS of the record. "Analog Trash" and "1000 Transmissions." "AT" is a quick, seductive track with great lyrics and one of the catchiest synth riffs to be heard in a long time. Very, VERY dance-able!! "1000 Transmissions" is by FAR my favorite track from this beautiful album. From the moment it stabs into action, you know that you are about to be in for a turbulent ride. The entire track feels like something that should be playing as you race across the galaxy in some epic game or film. Galatic-acid-trip aside, it is a VERY sensuous track. Very seductive. Very, very, VERY seductive. Excellent lyrics by the way. The entire track oozes desperation. Best riff on the entire album hands down. "S*** it Up" is a pretty good track. Lyrically it's pretty decent, and while the chorus lacks, it has one of the best bridges on the album. "Blue Alice" is another reason to purchase this album. The syncopated drum and synth-work on this track is astounding. The lyric is very Brothers Grimm meets "Go Ask Alice." Stellar track "Blue Alice" is! Worth every penny! Worth more than what they charge you actually. "Hearts for Bullets" is of course, a nice track. Really infectious chorus. "Six Seconds" rocks. No other way to explain it. "My Poison" is a delicious track. Again, very sexual. A bit slower, so it's a nice transition away from the album's predominantly up-tempo roster. The closer "Girl On the Floor" is probably the only track that didn't completely fascinate me on this album. Overall, this album kicks uber a**. Buy, you shan't regret it. =]

Huge Ayria fan, BUT...!

I love love love Ayria. I've been a fan since I discovered her shortly after Jen started the Ayria project, and even had her autograph and send me an album while I was deployed to Iraq. That said, this album is fantastic. Nothing less than I would expect from my favorite dark electronica diva. But BUYER BEWARE! ~~Sample the tracks before you purchase them from iTunes.~~ The tracks offered here are distorted and corrupted. I thought it was just a download error but now that I sample them they all sound scratchy, distorted, and corrupt as though they were open-mic recorded from a damaged vinyl LP. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ALBUM HERE UNTIL ITUNES FIXES IT!

I love Ayria.

Itunes...please fix this album. Or you owe me 9.99. I want the music I paid for!
