New and Old fans will love it!

As a nearly 30 year fan, I am jumping out if my skin right now! For those teens and 20-somethings who love Muse and the like, come take a listen to who set the stage for that genre! DM owns it!

Heaven

This is absolutely fantastic. I have been waiting years for this and it has defiantly lived up to my standards. I cannot wait for their full album.

So disappointing.

I have been a massive fan for 32 years, buying the 7" of "New Life" in 1981 and have followed them as my favorite band ever since. But this is just awful. Sorry, even though my love for their overall music is huge, I just cant be one of the people that would give them 5 stars just for singing Happy Birthday. This is boring and uninspired. The only thing I am happy about as a sign of the new album is that Dave seems to be singing again instead of the shouting he has done over the last two albums. I hope he does this during the concert also. His voice has become unrecognizable live.

As far as the remixes, I just gave them a brief listen. The Owlle remix sounds more like Depeche Mode than the original. But its not Depeche Mode is it? It is basically an Owlle single with Dave and Martins vocals. Same goes for any DM remixes these days. When producers remix their singles, they become the producers, and arent DM records at all. Gone are the days of REAL remixes...great extended mixes of the original remixed by the band themselves.

Originally a product of Britain's new romantic movement, Depeche Mode went on to become the quintessential electropop band of the 1980s. One of the first acts to establish a musical identity based completely around the use of synthesizers, they began their existence as a bouncy dance-pop outfit but gradually developed a darker, more dramatic sound that ultimately positioned them as one of the most successful alternative bands of their era. The roots of Depeche Mode date to 1976, when Basildon, England-based...
