Album Review

By glancing at the picture of its band members in the CD case, you'd think that Demiricous would be a boogie/blues band, judging from their appearance and the fact that they're kicking back a few brews at a bar. But once the little laser light hits track one of their debut CD, One, the sweet and soothing sounds of Slayer take your head clean off. The Indianapolis, Indiana natives work with the same musical ingredients as Tom Araya and company — galloping rhythms, repetitive riffs, fast tempos, and screamed vocals. Produced by a gentleman who should be no stranger to Hatebreed and Shadows Fall fans, Zeuss, One is a must-hear for fans of extreme thrash/death metal. Like other bands of their ilk, it may be all "samey sounding" to new listeners, but for those who are on their third copy of Reign in Blood, One may be the best debut to come along in ages. It's getting harder and harder nowadays to separate the metal purists from the poseurs (the latter a popular buzzword in the '80s metal community), and One will confirm that the gentlemen in Demiricous have metal running through their veins.

I was intrigued by the cool album listen and I was hooked! The music reminds me a lot of old-school and hard. If you like old Slayer, then check this release out!! Gotta say, it's one of my favorite releases right now.

If i Had to use 3 words to describe this band they would be slayer, slayer, and slayer. instrumentaly they sound identical to Reign In Blood era Slayer, Not that, thats a bad thing, i just wish They were More Original, More Demiricous And Less Slayer. It Is nice to see a strait up thrash band again (In Demirocous's Case Death/Thrash) In Stead Of Generic Metalcore Bands. If you are sick of modern slayer, listen to this, it may be the next best thing

Old School!

As a big fan of Slayer and 80's thrash i found this band to be a nice breath of fresh air in the metalcore dominated metal scene of today. It combines Slayer-esque thrash with death metal. This band has very proficient guitars and the drummer reminds me of Dave Lombardo, the singer is pretty good as well. I highly recomend to slayer fans, and death metal fans in general to check these guys out!

Powered by a hyperactive and ultra-aggressive attitude illustrated by home movies on the band's website involving Jackass-style antics -- lighting pubic hair on fire, bicycling down stairs, slapping each other, vomiting -- Demiricous are a band founded on speed and thrash. Frustrated by the lack of new American bands tracing the footsteps of Pantera and Slayer, vocalist/bassist Nate Olp, guitarist Scott Wilson, and drummer Chris Cruz formed the foundation of the group on Halloween of 2001.
