Well worth it!!

An absolute must for any lover of romantic piano: Alkan is not well known like Liszt or Chopin, but his music is by no means inferior, if not better! And Martin demonstrates prodigious skill on the piano; very clean and mistake free (as far as I know) and really you just can't go wrong with this album. My favourite pieces in this album are Le chemin de fer, and The hands reunited Etude.

This album is a spectacular act of virtuosity. I would challenge all in the world play to see a better rendition of "Le Preux" and have it be articulared nearly as well as Mr. Martin. The last three tracks are all well worth buying for their sheer virtiosity. The first of those last three etudes is for only the left hand (although I don't think I could play it with both my hands), the second is played all with the right hand (same comment for this etude), and the third titled "Hands Reunited" is the same notes for both hands. Well worth buying.
