Ok seriously

I may get a TON of flak for saying this, but I think that this recording/interpretation is better than Karajan's. The combination of how the hall reverbs perfectly, the clear recording, and how Vanska powers through the piece without excessive bravado, and the overall talent of the musicians. Simply put, I love this recording.

I am going out on a limb too and saying this is one of the greatest recordings of Beethoven ever.

The Minnesota Orchestra, one of the leading American orchestras, has often been referred to as the "orchestra on wheels" because of its extensive touring. Its first tour occurred in the spring of 1907, a mere three and a half years after its formation. When not on tour, the orchestra's home was at the Minneapolis Auditorium until 1930, when it moved to the Northrop Auditorium at the University of Minnesota.
