Genius of Beethoven, Genius of Liszt combined with Wonderful Performance
This is a wonderful gem that brings new clarity to this timeless masterpiece. Scherbakov plays this very clear and precise. A very musical interpretation filled with many nuances! At times is sounds like more than one PIANIST! A Truly wonderful recording of a wonderful transcription of a wonderful piece!! WONDERFUL!
Liszt does Beethoven
If you've never heard a Beethoven symphony arranged for solo piano, you are in for a treat. This recording of Liszt's piano transcription of Beethoven's 9th Symphony is fun and interesting, especially if you know the original work well. The second and fourth movements are the biggest thrill, but the whole thing is well worth having.
