iTunes Review

Nickelback have the odd distinction of being the biggest-selling rock band of the '00s and also the most reviled by critics. That's even though the most common critical complaints—Chad Kroeger's tawdry lyrics and the band's uncomplicated songwriting—can be found throughout much of modern pop music. It's the critics' loss. As this greatest-hits collection proves, slow jams like "Photograph" and "Someday" are no less sentimental than your average Nashville ballad, and rockers like "Burn It to the Ground" descend from the George Thorogood school of butt-kicking booze paeans. "Something in Your Mouth" may be lacking in subtlety, but that was never the band's selling point to start with.

Greatest Hits

I read the reviews and some people, dont know what a bands greatest hits means, its not to display new music, its exactly what it states, Greatest Hits. Its for people who wants to have all their biggest hits on 1 CD. Great Album

Great stuff!

I've been a fan for years and I think this is great. It's missing other really good songs but it's only volume one! I find it interesting that people say NB is bad yet they take the extra effort to seek out their CDs and music videos to write about how terrible they think NB is. Their shows are consistently sold out and they put out awesome stuff.

NIckelback better than Disturbed???

This is like my second review for an album so i apologize for the rant that I am about to make in the beginning from a review. (first paragrapgh is the rant second is the actual review):

i had to laugh when i saw the review the person wrote who said that nickelback is better than disturbed. while i am a fan of nickelback and have been for many years now since they first started up disturbed is a better rock band than nickelback is. Do not get me wrong, i think nickelback is a great band and cannot wait for new music to come out, Disturbed is a more superior rock band than Nickelback is however and you just cannot compare the two bands realilistically. You just cant.

Onto the actual album, this is exactly what you expect when a band makes a "best" of album, which will be all of the artists or bands well recieved songs that they have. All of the songs have been the bands most radio friendly well recieved songs. It would have been nice to see a bigger range from all of their years by including songs from their first two studio albums to get the new/getting into fans just exactly how the band progressed from the beginning to where they are now. they should have also included a couple new singles in the album to give their loyal fans more of an incentive to purchase the album more. Regardless it is a great pile of their music and is worth owning if you do not own all the music by the band already. If you do own all the albums, i would suggest just looking at the order of the songs and then just make a playlist on your ipod/iphone and use that as your best of album.

Formed: 1996 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Few bands did more than Nickelback to establish the force of slick, commercially minded post-grunge in the 2000s. Led by vocalist Chad Kroeger, the band initially emerged in the late '90s as Canada's answer to Creed, prizing a blend of gruff vocals and distorted (yet radio-friendly) guitars. After a handful of singles failed to gain much traction in Canada, "How You Remind Me" caught hold in 2001, eventually topping the charts in several countries while gathering four Grammy nominations and four...
