Lotus is a Genius

I bought this album without even listening to the samples, that's how much trust I have in Flying Lotus to put out high quality music. And, of course, I didn't regret buying LA EP 3x3 blind at all. This EP's got everything we've come to love about FlyLo (the beats, the melodies, the effects, the songwriting, the samples) and when coupled with fresh ideas, it's obvious we've got another classic FlyLo release on our hands. After listening through the whole EP, I'd have to say my favorites off this EP are Endless White, Spin Cycles, and the Rebekah Raff remix of Auntie's Harp (not to mention the beautiful video for Infinitum). This is a stunning conclusion to the LA series, and I have nothing but good things to say about Steven Ellison and his work. I'm looking forward to the new LP, "2010," out next year on Warp, along with other projects he's got in the works. Mad respect, FlyLo.

LOVE UPDOWNBEAT MUSIC...Ill listen to it every day

Simply Stunning...

An amazing conclusion to the epic saga that was "Los Angeles." Every song is a gem and the video for "Infinitum" is beautiful. Cop this immediately and if you haven't got the other EPs, what are you waiting for?

Born: October 7, 1983 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Electronic

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Experimental electronic music producer Flying Lotus, born Steven Ellison, is a grandson of songwriter Marilyn McLeod (the co-writer of Diana Ross' "Love Hangover"), as well as a great-nephew of pianist Alice Coltrane, and therefore a cousin of saxophonist Ravi Coltrane. Ellison made beats for the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim network before releasing his debut full-length, 1983, which resembled the work of fellow avant-garde hip-hop producers Madlib, J Dilla, and Ammoncontact on Plug Research in 2006....
