Editors’ Notes

The Swedish three-piece Dirty Loops have one of the most original sounds in the current music scene: a jazz fusion–EDM–rock amalgamation that nods to Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, and Weather Report, sometimes all in one song. The fact that their single "Hit Me"—a pyrotechnic jam with lightning chord changes and stratospheric vocals—has leant itself to house and techno remixes demonstrates the band's range. Elsewhere on their debut, they nod to Wonder's "High Enough" on "Accidentally in Love," merge burbling slap-bass with synth stabs on "Sexy Girls," and deliver a quizzical jazz interpretation of Avicii's mega-hit "Wake Me Up." The deluxe edition of Loopified features covers of Adele, Britney Spears, and Justin Beiber.

Customer Reviews

Ok?...

If Stevie Wonder and drummer Dave Weckl joined Scritti Politi and maybe asked Tony Banks from Genesis to sit in every once in awhile,or Jeff Lorber or Donald Fagen from Steely Dan to add some chord changes…you might have an idea…but really there is only one way to find out…listen to all the previews…all the way through,,,simply an amazing band...

Amazing Talent

The collective talent of this group is unheard of!!! Each member is a master of their respective instruments. Jonah's vocals (WITHOUT AUTO-TUNE mind you!) are some of the most astounding demonstrations of vocal range and control I've ever heard. Not to mention his outstanding jazz piano skills/solos... Henrik's bass-lines are some of the most complex and virtuosic lines ever- without losing the delicious groove that makes their songs so dang funky! And Aaron is quite possibly the most rhythmically masterful drummer of this generation. He could play the most confusing and difficult fills/lines possible and STILL manage to keep perfect time and groove. The fills at the end of Hit Me still freak me out. Seriously incredible band. They have the potential change Pop music forever. I hope people can latch onto how great these guys are so they get the recognition they truly deserve.

Phenomenons

Dirty loops is what happens when you get three incredible, abnormally talented musicians together... Arranging the mainstream pop music into jazz/fusion sick educated music.
