iTunes Review

With this career-summary greatest-hits collection, My Chemical Romance call it quits. Arguably the best hard rock band of the ‘00s, MCR wrote and performed with a breadth and determination not found in many young bands poised for superstardom. Events never transpired in their favor for a big breakthrough (they felt the decline of the major record labels), but their supersized cult audience enjoyed the spoils of a band given the means of production to create big-sounding music. This set leads with the previously unreleased, piano-based “Fake Your Death” and proceeds chronologically until the final three “Attic” demos conclude their story. The intensity of “Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough for the Two of Us” and “Vampires Will Never Hurt You” represent MCR's debut album in top form. Highlights from each of their studio albums show their continuous evolution as a band. The deluxe edition adds extensive video footage of the group beyond the standard rock videos.

It's amazing

I may have just been born when Bullets came out, but this band will always be my favorite. The amount of people who come together to love this band, this idea, and the songs and the members amazes me. I can never go one video on YouTube and look in the comments and not see someone who has Frerard or Mikey or Bob or Ray as their icon. This band has saved so many lives, including Gerard's, and it wasn't, and isn't, just a band. It's an idea that will forever live in the hearts of everyone who has ever been touched by a My Chemical Romance song. This sounds so cheesy but this band is my life, and without it, I don't know what I'd do.

They might not be dead

Ok so does any one notice that the "new" song is called fake your death... Idk about you guys but that sounds like something Gerard would do as like a little easter egg to show they are going to come back.

The End.

So so sad. MCR is and will always be fantastic Rock. Never another band like them. This album is a great collection of their hits.

Biography

Formed: September 11, 2001 in Newark, NJ

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

With their emo-punk songwriting, theatrical vocals, and neo-goth appearance, My Chemical Romance rose from the East Coast underground to the forefront of modern rock during the early 2000s. In keeping with the tragic element of the group's best-known singles -- including "Helena," "I'm Not OK (I Promise)," and "Welcome to the Black Parade" -- My Chemical Romance has roots in catastrophe, as frontman Gerard Way decided to form the band after watching the World Trade Center collapse on September 11,...
