EDITORS’ NOTES

Though faith is at the core of their music, Boiling Point’s exuberant pop/rock reaches out to secular as well as Christian listeners. The Minneapolis quartet’s sophomore album, More, is a hard-charging, hook-filled affair that drives home a message of personal change. Eric Bjorklund’s vocals capture the urgency within “Put Your Hands Up,” “Stay With Me,” and the title tune, spurred on by Jon Canfield’s heroic lead guitar and Scott Bjorklund’s kinetic drumming. Tracks like the character study “Ordinary Girl” and the yearning ballad “Reason” are more restrained but no less engaging than the upbeat numbers.
