This bonus track version of Glen Campbell's 2008 album Meet Glen Campbell adds five tracks, including 2008 remixes of Campbell's classic hits "Gentle on My Mind" and "Galveston," along with three tracks from his AOL Session. These remixes primarily consist of the songs being compressed and made contemporary for ears that have grown accustomed to songs sounding "louder." It's not necessarily an improvement but a curiosity. The AOL Session tracks show Campbell in relatively good form, artistically true to the material, showing off the timelessness of Jimmy Webb's "Wichita Lineman" and bringing a folk-country feel to an orchestrated take of U2's "All I Want Is You." The original album remains an intriguing collection of unexpected covers, from Travis' "Sing" through The Replacements' "Sadly Beautiful" and The Velvet Underground's "Jesus." The songs are performed with a respect for the material. There's no irony involved, but as with Johnny Cash's later albums, there's a love for strong melodies and a gifted lyric.
