iTunes Review

Matchbox Twenty has stacked up platinum plaques, with enough singles to fill a 2007 greatest hits collection (Exile on Mainstream) and be anointed one of the most popular bands of the late ‘90s/early ‘00s. North is its first new studio album in 10 years, written in a house in Nashville. Rob Thomas and company continue MB20’s legacy of charged pop, lyrical and melodic contraptions, and solid hooks.

Certainly not their best, but still good stuff

This album is soo catchy!!! I especially she's so mean it gets stuck in my head everyday and I love it! This is the MB 20 band I missed and love!

A Move In a New Direction.

North is a fantastic album that both new and old fans can appreciate. This band is dedicated to never creating the same album twice, which is exactly what is delivered here. I think what I like the most is that the whole band is featured here. Kyle (Lead Guitars) sings lead vocals on The Way, Paul Doucette (Guitars & Drums on the earlier albums) plays drums on the record, and many of the songs were written by the entire band. There is acoustic ballads, great adult alternative, pop and borderline dance club songs. But at the core, it's Matchbox Twenty and the brilliant songwriting that has built this band's fan base. I can't wait to see these songs live. Please don't discard this album because it's not the same 2000's MB20, because you're really missing out. Stand out tracks (besides all of them) are Parade, English Town, How Long, Radio, and Sleeping at the Wheel.

Upon the release of their debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, in fall 1996, Matchbox Twenty was pigeonholed as one of the legions of post-grunge guitar bands that roamed the American pop scene in the middle of that decade. As their first single, "Push," climbed the charts, it was widely assumed (at least by cynical critics) that they were a one-hit wonder, but Yourself or Someone Like You continued to spin off singles well into 1998. By that time, the group's blend of '70s arena rock and early-'90s...
