Album Review

The Beard's latest release, most aptly titled V, is the apex of their career. Blending both its commercial moments with technical genius, V leaves the listener with a brilliantly crafted finished product. "At the End of the Day" kicks off V and is nothing short of a classic. "Thoughts, Pt. 2" is intricate, yet beautiful. "Goodbye to Yesterday" is a tender ballad. The CD ends with "The Great Nothing," which again displays the genius behind Neal Morse and Spock's Beard. This is the type of CD that needs to be listened to several times before it hits you. But when that moment arrives, the value of V will be recognized. [Metal Blade's 2007 edition included a bonus track.]

Customer Reviews

Wow! " another great band" Brilliant music!!

Leave it to i tunz, the most awesome music provider,.. i never heard of them( s.b) , but these guys are amazing ! just about all of their music is great! easily worth the money to purchase this modern rock on the 30 second trial and see for yourself! i never heard of them and they are "EASILY" better than most mainstream bands . like porcupine tree,(the best band period) s.b is hot on their tail!!!

Dream Thaeter and Yes fans rejoice!

The bass is so inspired by Chris Squire of Yes. The music fuses Yes and Dream Theater incredibly well. Not for those with ADD, particullarly some of the tracks from V and Day For Night. Prog rock is alive!!!!

One of the Greats

The first time I heard these guys I was automatically hooked. They have such a unique sound, and they truly put a great lyric to an awesome sound.
