A Beautiful Tribute to Cory
Just like the rest of the world, I was in shock when Cory suddenly passed away in July. Everybody wondered how they were going to handle this on the show since Finn was the heart of Glee. I was both happy and sad when they announced the tribute. These songs were performed by some of Cory's best friends. You can hear the pain and emotion in each and every one of these songs. The standout on the album was definitely Lea Michele's version of "Make You Feel My Love" which was so raw and gorgeous that it brought me to tears upon first listening. All of the songs were beautifully done and I'm sure the episode will be too. RIP Cory. You're missed every single day by so many. Rest easy.
This episode is going to be such a perfect tribute. 100% sure I'll be crying during the episode. Rest In Peace Cory Monteith :'(
Grace In the Grief
To those who take a "Hard line" regarding Addiction: Cory had an illness that took him as surely as if he had cancer, heart disease, kidney disease or diabetes. His illness may not be "acceptable" to you, but I can assure you that there are millions of people just like Cory who struggle every day to try and get well. We do not know Mr. Monteith's pain, nor do we know how he developed the disease. To blatantly blast a man for an illness is as horrific as it is insensitive to many who want to get well. It's time to stop the judging and start helping. The acting was not acting, this was a grieving group of people who homogenized into a family. The tears are real, the pain is overwhelming and to marginalize that in anyway detracts from the human race. Cory Monteith, as is all of us, was human. Let his family, friends, co-workers and fans mourn him in peace. This was tastefully done, beautifully written and heartbreakingly sad. There is grace in the grief.
