Love and peace

These songs bring back fond memories. And to have the Choir sings these songs is heavenly. I love them all.

Very Peaceful!

One word describes this work: peaceful! This is one of those albums you can play on a Sunday morning and it simply brings peace into your home and joy to your heart. You'll find yourself singing along to the songs you know. A few songs are not in the Children's songbook and are the newer songs sung in the annual Primary programs from the past few years (Holding Hands Around the World, If the Savior Stood Beside Me, I Know That My Savior Loves Me), while others are traditional tunes that young and old will remember and enjoy. Mack Wilberg did an excellent job putting these arrangements together, preserving the tender messages that goes along with each song. The orchestrations are simply beautiful and flow well with each song. There is a nice range of songs on this album, from the delicate mother\child message in 'Mother, Tell Me the Story', to the lifting 'Called To Serve', to the cheerful 'Give Said The Little Stream'.

If I could change one thing on this album, it would be that actual children had been used to sing in some of the songs, such as 'Mother, Tell Me the Story' and 'Teach Me To Walk in the Light'. That would have been a nice touch, but not enough to give this album less than 5 stars.

If you are looking for an album that will bring a feeling of warmth and comfort to the heart of any age group, young or old, I recommend this album 'Teach Me to Walk in the Light'.

Helps My Road Rage

I used to hate listening to Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Maybe because I used to be inactive but I have grown to LOOOOOOOVE them. I think this is their best album, yet! Probably because I’m in the Primary right now, but the album is so good. Totally worth the $11! Thank you MoTab for giving us something to listen to on Sundays while preparing Sunday dinner!..and something that calms me down while driving! :)

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir made their public debut on August 22, 1847, just 29 days after Brigham Young and his 147 followers first settled in the Salt Lake Valley. John Parry was named the choir's first official conductor in 1849, and two years later, construction was completed on the first Tabernacle church, followed in 1867 by the dome-roofed Tabernacle facility which still exists. The 150-member choir assembled for the facility's October 6th opening was at that time the largest in the U.S.,...
