This is a beautiful, haunting song - I enjoy listening to it over and over and I can't get it out of my head... This new single by Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins legend) and Mark Gardener (Ride) is a great collaboration that feels like I have been transported back to the early 1990's when their respective bands sounds were melodic and sweet like herion mixed with treacle. The lush layering of the the guitars creates a yearning that is matched by Mark's warm vocals. I am surprised how much I like the pairing of Mark's voice with Robin's guitar work... This song creates a craving and I can only hope they follow it up with several more tracks that are equally impressive.

After Mark Gardener left Ride during the mixing process of the band's 1995 album Tarantula, the singer/guitarist began working on solo material and released the "Magdalen Sky" single on Oxford, England's Shifty Disco label in 1997. Soon after he joined forces with Ride drummer Loz Colbert, guitarist Sam Williams, and bassist Hari T and started playing as the Animalhouse. They released an EP in 2000, Small, then the Ready to Receive album before dissolving soon after. After taking a break from music...
