A Well Rounded Compilation Of An American Original

Creating a single disk which manages to encapsulate the entirety of Dewey Cox's career would be a daunting task for anybody. No other artist in American history has had a career which spans so many genres, and which has contributed so much to world culture. Who else can claim to have had number one hits on the top of the Pop, Country & Western, R&B and Adult Contemporary charts? Elvis, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan all come close, but none of these three had the same spark which makes Dewey Cox such a legend. With such a large diskography to draw from, some hard choices had to be made in the creation of this disk. We have all of the major hits here; Walk Hard, Guilty As Charged, Let's Duet, and Let Me Hold You (Little Man). Due to Mr. Cox's odd penchant for rerecording "Walk Hard" in differing styles every so many years, we actually have four versions of the same song on this disk; the original, a punk rendition, the theme song of his 1970s TV show, and an all-star version. I think we can thank the Cox foundation to thank that the Hair Metal rendition of the song was left off. Unfortunately, several minor hits were not included on "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story"; most notably "You Make Me Love Sick" and "Whose Your Daddy Now". I suppose we'll have to wait until the long awaited "Box of Cox" to be released before we can get the definitive answer to Dewey Cox's career.

The price is well worth it. These are the most legitimate parody songs ever made

title says it all. These songs are so good they're almost...real. The soundtrack on amazon.com only has about 15 songs and is only 5 dollars cheaper, so this is well worth the price. My favorite songs are 'Take my Hand', 'That's Amore' (wish I'd thought to put it to a country pace lol), 'A Life Without You', and 'The Mulatto Song' (being one myself). Such a great soundtrack. Very funny movie, as well.

Missing the song Starman

I highly recommend this hilarious soundtrack. The extra tracks on this expanded edition are well worth the extra cash. For the completists, though, it's missing the song Starman. You can grab that track from the basic edition.
