iTunes Editors’ Notes

Annie Lennox's post-Eurythmics years have seen her Arctic Goddess persona gradually melting away, revealing the vulnerable mortal underneath. The Annie Lennox Collection testifies to the consistent strength and stylistic focus of her output since the release of her solo debut Diva in 1992. Lennox’s unmistakable voice — by turns remote, insinuating and anguished — works best in stately, elegantly tooled pop settings. From songs of romantic discontent (“Why,” “No More ‘I Love You’s’”) to maternal joy (“Precious”) and urban angst (“Pavement Cracks”), she’s found ways to apply her otherworldly presence to universal themes and emotions. Along the way have been some intriguing side projects, including soundtrack contributions to Bram Stoker’s Dracula (“Love Song for a Vampire”) and Lord of the Rings – Return of the King (“Into the West”), both included here. The buoyant “Pattern of My Life” (written by Keene’s Tom Chaplin) and the celebratory “Shining Light” (first recorded by the Irish group Ash) are newly recorded tracks with an upbeat edge. Lennox has grown even more expressive and human with time.

Annie Lennox Greatest Hits

Well here is the greatest hits from the voice of Eurythmics. I love all these songs from her four solo albums. Every hit from her albums Diva, Medusa, Bare & Songs Of Mass Destruction. I especially love the two new songs here "Shining Light" & "Pattern Of My Life"...both are great! Shining Light reminds me of her days in the band The Tourists (before Eurythmics) its very popish and fun!! The other new song Pattern Of My Life is truely classic Annie Lennox! Not classic Eurythmics because it is rather layed back like her Diva album was so I say its classic Annie.. Plus all the great videos are fantastic as well!! pick up this great collection..its wonderful!!

SING!

Annie's new collection of songs and videos is better than good: it's staggering. Not only are her original songs among the best pop music to have ever seduced your ears, but she even makes classics like "Whiter Shade of Pale" and "Ladies of the Canyon" utterly her own. Born on December 25 herself, Annie is a Christmas present to music lovers everywhere. Fans of her video work will be jumping for joy to see "Little Bird" included (AT LAST!!!) on this release. No doubt about it: Annie Lennox is a shining light!

Diva!!!!!!

Annie Lennox is the Shining Light of pop music! She is iconic both musically and visually!! If you are not a fan yet, you will be after you buy this album! Ps..Shame on iTunes for making the superdeluxe version a partial album!!!!!!!
