One of Their Best

Among the best of Yes. This album was a strong start to their career, but it is not well recognized, like most albums by Yes (maybe except 90125). If you are Yes fan, this is an important album to have in your collection. Good songs (for me at least) include: Beyond and Before, Every Little Thing (cover of the Beatles' "Every Little Thing" with a few prog rock twists), Survival, Something's Coming, and I See You. Bottom line: if you really enjoy Yes, this is essential to your collection.

It Opened My Eyes

In 1973 I bought an 8-track player from our neighbors, and they threw in this album as part of the deal. Over the years I have found that most people are not aware of Yes by Yes. The music is wonderful--a crude, tasty blend of jazz and rock with rich vocal harmonies and alternate timings that ultimately planted the seed for the progressive classical rock that became their signature. I went on to become a fan of Yes and progressive rock...but this is the album that opened my eyes.
