What's New in Version 6.2.1

Ah, spring. The time to sow seeds and shower them with love and care and well, water, so that we may expect a beautiful flowering in the months to come. Spring is also when those pesky weeds start poking their heads out of the soil. The joy of the garden is so much greater when they're all pulled, isn't it?

We sowed a few seeds and pulled a few weeds in your fabulous 1Password 6.2 garden and upgraded it to 6.2.1. You adventurous types will be happy to hear that we've added support for Safari Tech Preview. We also fixed an issue that occasionally caused QuickLook, viewing and exporting to fail when working with attachments. Webloc attachments will no longer cause 1Password to crash, sorry about that. Enjoy!

We value your workflow too much to prompt you for a review. If you feel generous or have a couple of minutes, please take some time to leave a rating and review on the App Store. It makes a huge difference to us. Thank you so very much.

Remember, we love hearing from you. Get in touch with us at, @1Password on Twitter, and and tell us about the newest flowers you've discovered!

===== What's New in Version 6.2 =====

The New Tricks Edition

You know what they say. “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but you can teach password managers new things.” We totally agree with that last part. Over the years, we’ve released many dozens of new versions, hundreds of betas, and approximately a gazillion improvements! That’s a lot of changes, and we’re not about to stop now. Without further ado, we present 1Password 6.2 for Mac: The New Tricks Edition.

== More studying, bigger brain ==

Some of the coolest tricks 1Password performs, like automatically saving Logins or filling information on websites, come from the browser extension and the brain that powers it. Every once in a while the brain would come across a website it just didn’t understand. That’s when 1Password wouldn’t fill your information accurately. In an effort to improve, the brain sat down and studied all sorts of websites, and now its guesses are more educated than ever. As an added bonus, 1Password will now try to automatically name the Logins it creates.

== First-class importing ==

Thanks to 1Password for Teams and Families, this is the sweetest time to try 1Password, especially if you’ve been using something else to safeguard your digital life. Our latest upgrades to the importer make it super simple to import your information from another application.

We’ve also improved the way 1Password for Mac and Families and Teams (oh my!) work together, the way 1Password mini behaves, and more!

Customer Reviews

Solid and consistent

I have used 1Password for about 4 years. I seldom rate a product unless it’s either terrible or exceptional. 1Password is exceptional. Everyone once in awhile a changed password won’t update in the right field within 1Password, and I work around that by using their "copy and fill” feature, which allows me to ensure I capture it… it seems to be related to coding a password field on a “change password” page by the site I’m using and not an issue with 1Password.

Other than that…
- I no longer have about 3 or 4 passwords I shuffle around between sites
- All my passwords are unique are very strong
- If I get a notice from a site about an attempted fraudulent log in I am able to quickly and conveniently change all the passwrods I want
- The feature to store secure non-password info, such as ID numbers, etc is a feature I use regularly
- The passwords accessible on all my devices and I update seemlessly so I always have the most updated sites and passwords
- The integration of the passwords on OSX is great. Ios requires an additional step, but very easy to manage

** - I was reading the latest features in an update. In the write up they mentioned that if you have time they would love to get feedback… they did not blow up my email, throw a pop up in their app or demand my attention for their benefit… they asked as part of the details in write ups I typically ignore. I Appreciate This More Than You Know!

A well executed, essential app for desktop & mobile

I got 1Password many years ago on recommendation of a colleague. It sat unused for a while, but once I tried it for a few websites, I was hooked. It makes it so easy to generate and track all your site passwords, there is NO reason to ever reuse a password again (no - putting a “2” on the end of your password doesn’t make it different).

I love that any changes or additions on one machine are automatically available on all my others (mobile and desktops). There are all sorts of features, but even if you only use it for storing your own passwords on one computer or phone, it is worth the price of purchase.

An essential application

We have been using 1 Password for about a year now. My wife and I share a vault for our shared logins like banking and such. We also have separate vaults for our individual stuff. She use it for the nine zillion logins she has for work. We have completely integrate 1Passowrd into our online lives and I just don’t think we could go back to the previous way of using lists in Numbers again. It is essential to how we work and live now. And on top of that I consider it the single best application we use on all of our desktop and mobile devices. Like the subject says, it is an essential app.
