Apple "Staff Favourite" in the UK, Jul/Aug 2010

Account Tracker is a powerful personal finance app that helps you track spending and monitor balances across multiple accounts. Its clean, intuitive user interface, and features such as alerts, bill reminders, budgets, reports and full multi-currency support, make it easy to take control of your finances.

This PRO version includes a number of enhancements over the basic version of Account Tracker, including support for the Apple Watch, 3D Touch, automatic backups and database syncing over either iCloud or Dropbox.

Also check out ATB Viewer, a companion Mac app available on the Mac App Store. It lets you view your iOS backup files and data on the bigger screen of your Mac.

- Track multiple accounts: checking, current, savings, credit cards, loans/mortgages ... etc
- Separate your accounts into groups, e.g. personal vs business accounts
- Enter your recurring transactions using calendar-based repeat intervals, e.g. every 2 weeks, the last Friday of every month ... etc
- Quickly and simply enter one-off transactions as they happen (now even quicker with 3D Touch!)
- Reconcile your account data with your statements
- While it is useful to see where your money goes, you can also look FORWARDS, showing all of your future commitments
- Alerts if an account is likely to go overdrawn or hit its overdraft limit

- Enable reminders for non-automatic transactions, e.g. bills that you have to pay manually
- View all transactions with reminders set
- Alerts to tell you when these transactions are due

- Add budgets per category for spending, income and transfers across individual or multiple accounts
- View these as daily, weekly, fortnightly/biweekly, monthly, yearly or custom dates
- Monitor your transactions against the goals you set

- Detailed reports to really understand your financial position
- Account balance over time, cash flow, spending by category or payee detail, income by category or payer and transfers by category
- View these as daily, weekly, fortnightly/biweekly, monthly, yearly or custom dates
- Export or print reports as PDF files

- Import historical transactions or bank statements from a CSV file
- Export account statements, budgets and reports in CSV format for offline processing, e.g. in a spreadsheet
- Local backup and restore on your device, plus transfer of backups by email, AirDrop, iTunes file sharing, iCloud and Dropbox
- Support for database syncing across multiple devices (using either iCloud or Dropbox)
- PIN code protection, plus Touch ID and 1Password integration

- Full multi-currency support, per account and per transaction
- The default currency is the one local to your device, but this can be overridden
- Supports sub-categories and splitting a transaction across multiple categories/subcategories
- Limited support for stock valuations - see support pages for full details
- Universal, Retina enabled app that works on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad - buy once, use it on ALL of your devices
- Also supports the Apple Watch, to display account balances and a snapshot of your main budgets
- In-app user guide

What's New in Version 5.2.1

iCloud improvements and bug fixes, in preparation for my Mac app (coming soon!)

Added a percentage increase/decrease to the balance report, based on the starting balance.

Note that you now require iOS 8 or above. Older versions (of iOS and my app) will continue to work in isolation, however syncing is not supported between different app versions (5.2 to 5.2.1 is ok).

Great checkbook and more

I had to reluctantly stop using a previous checkbook app due to it's incompatibility with recent iOS upgrades and total lack of developer support.

This app is a great replacement that meets all my needs - recurring transactions with a look ahead feature that is great for budgeting and cash flow projections, budgets, reports, multi-device syncing AND GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Well worth the price; well worth treble the price.

Good app, needs just a tweak or two

I had been a user of iReconcile for several years until the lack of updates made it impossible to use. I have tried several other checkbook type apps. I’m not interested in a Mint type app. My investments and longer term finances are all covered elsewhere. I just want to track day to day spending and sync with different users/devices.
Perhaps because I had used the same app previously, I didn’t really take to any of the others I tried but after a couple of weeks I really like Account Tracker Pro. First, the Dropbox sync works really well, it is easy to set up and syncs quickly. Next, transaction entries are pretty easy, although you have to save a couple extra times while entering a transaction if what you are entering hasn’t been previously entered. Also, it would be nice if you could re-order transactions on the same date. Overall just minor annoyances. Everything else seems pretty intuitive. Lastly, I emailed the developer, Graham Haley a couple times with questions early on. He responded quickly and has put out an update in the couple of weeks I’ve been using the app. Hopefully this bodes well going forward. Overall, a good app!

Best Replacement for iBank

Was a long time user of iBank (now Banktivity). I stopped using it for personal reasons and because the upgrade path didn't seem reasonable and too expensive.

Forward to today, I now need to have something to keep track of a small business I have and I thought the old iBank would be just the thing. But I found the old 32bit app was no longer supported so I started looking for an alternative. The latest Banktivity was way too featured for what I needed and it would have cost me way too much.

Then I found Account Tracker. It was perfect for what I needed to do and once I got used to its data entry, i liked it better than iBank. Let's just say that AT is simple but effective. It didn't come with a bunch of predefined categories I never used, it simply built up a list as I added transactions. I thought I would miss having a desktop app (it's coming) but the desktop viewer is actually all I need.

And the price and support can't be beat. So if you don't need all the online banking (I find those to be counterproductive and confusing) or investment tracking but want a solid way to keep track of your spending, Accoubt Tracker is for you (and me).
