Could be better
I’ve used this app for over a year now, and I love it. To the people complaining that there’s no cut and paste option, just fiddle around with the app some more and you’ll find that you can duplicate and transform layers. If the creators/developers of the app stumble upon my review, I want to say that I’d really like a fill option. It’s time consuming to color things such as hair and find and erase any stray marks that crossed over the lines. On other art programs, there’s virtually always a paint bucket option to fill in shapes. However, this amazing app doesn’t have that feature! If there is, please tell me how to find and use it.
Another thing: when I enlarge a layer, it becomes more blurry and pixelated (especially if drawn with the graphite pencil). Will you please change or add some things so that no matter how I dilate the drawing it’s resolution and quality with stay the same? Thank you!
KTW brushes don’t even work right
This app is lacking so much functionality and even the one thing it had going for it, KTW brushes, isn’t even working right!
With any of the KTW brushes with transparency, such as his watercolor brushes, you need to maintain pen contact with your ipad/wacom/etc as long as you want to maintain a smooth wash. The moment you lift up the pen and put it back down, you are now adding another visible “layer” of color on top.
The problem when painting in the Sketch app on the ipad is that for some reason it will think that you have lifted up the apple pencil when you have not, even when you are still putting pressure on the pencil. SO, you cannot have a nice flat wash using KTW brushes on the ipad, you instead end up with smudgy layered washes. If I can’t properly use KTW brushes in the Sketch app then there is no point in using the app, I may as well use Procreate or Autodesk Sketchbook, both of which have way more functionality that Sketch.
I don’t know if the problem is with the apple pencil or with the app, but this needs to be fixed.
Also, the KTW ballpoint pen brush doesn’t work in the app correctly either. It comes out as lines of dots. =(
Good app that keeps getting better with each update!
I’ve been using adobe photoshop sketch for a few months now. When i first got it, it was good but not perfect. However, slowly but surely with each update, adobe added things i was longing for but the app didn’t have. Custom canvas sizes, resize all layers.. each update is an improvement to my experience which I think can be actually rare sometimes. The only thing that I would need to make this app perfect is a selection / wand tool. ❤️
