Allow ad control

I'm a new user of AP mobile. I'm surprised by the lack of control over the video ads. At least allow pause/go back to list when the ad is playing. It's particularly annoying that the same ad keeps popping up every time I hit a new video. Allow users to rate an ad as relevant or not... I'm not a potential customer for Loreal hair products. Also, why is the volume so high on the ads... Very disruptive. I'll keep the app, but because of the ads I'm de-listing videos from my feed.

On the Watch App, the news never updates. Since day one all I have are the same five news stories. Useless. No "force refresh " button or anything.

Finally- why does the app on the phone repeatedly ask my to rate the app 5 stars so you can continue to provide free updates? Make a quality, working app, and I'll rate it higher. Right now, it's two stars and coming off my devices. I'll give you another try when a new update comes out.

I've tried them all, the AP news app is easily the best...

After a full year of using all the major news apps, AP has won me over and is now my go-to news app, along with NPR which is also excellent. Main reason: No gimmicky bells and whistles, just straight text with no photos of main news modules. Of course there are video and photo modules too, but these aren't forced upon you for users like me who don't like videos and photos forced down my throat when all I want to do is READ serious news articles. This allows the articles to load FAST for off line reading, with minimal data usage. If you're serious about getting timely updates on news with well written in-depth articles, AP is tops. Would rate a TEN star if possible.

Stories Fail To Update/Rubbish Web Links At Bottom

I still believe AP's format is the easiest to use and the stories are varied enough to satiate serious interests as well as light hearted general interest stories. I am increasingly annoyed by 2 issues though: 1. Sporadically, I'll open the app and see new cover photos for current news, but upon clicking various categories find the articles are stuck at a previous date. Several versions ago I had this problem and tech support recommended deleting/reinstalling the app. This fixes the current version as well, but it's getting old! 2. I read AP stories because I'd like to think they're reliable reporting. The addition of "links suggested by Taboola" to oftentimes rubbish websites at the bottom of each article in this version tarnishes AP's reputation as a credible news source: careful your guilt by advertising association...
