What's New in Version 6.3.1
- Fixed a navigation bug that was impacting some users
- Fixed issue with display of Spanish language characters
I don't have a problem with the layout, but current version is my first version. Used the mobile web version on ipad for years, but recently the photos stopped loading, so got this app and now all photos are viewable. Good: App has more categories available to list in favorites - mobile web limited how many to view on page. Finally my local settings work - mobile web kept sending me to NYC. I don't mind the strip of ads at the bottom, easy to tune out. Bad: But can't stand the full page ad that hides content - even worse is the frequency of this ad once it decides to start nagging at you. Good: Top News and Local give long list of new stories. Not So Good: US News and others keep changing and have a set limit, so if you miss one news story too bad it's gone.
Crapped out again...
iPad version is unreadable with the new horizontal columns. Aren't both versions supposed to be the same. You know universal? Liars and now the iPhone version loads the top news whenever you open it. Alerts repeat annoyingly. Thanks for taking away control. Here is a clue for the clueless developers: no browsers scroll horizontally and there is no rush by chrome or Firefox to change that. Form follows function morons! It's funny how only bots and paid reviewers like the app now...
And STILL goes to top news on iPhone whenever you open it. Way to not update or listen to your users.
6.2 missed the mark
The latest update to 6.2 does nothing to improve navigation. No change in my evaluation.
The 6.2 release has made what was the best source for the news to a frustrating exercise in navigation. To move from one story to another was a simple swipe and has now turned into a marathon. I use to highly recommend AP Mobile but cannot in good faith after this latest update. I'd be happy to revise my rating when/if AP listens to their customer base.
I am now looking for a replacement application. If anyone has a recommendation I'd be interested.
