good at blocking porn, also blocks many other things

This content blocker app is good at what its name says it does: blocking porn. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to block many other things that aren't porn. This is rather frustrating and (assuming you haven't restricted enabling/disabling the app) results in the fairly frequent need to disable the blocker to view articles/sites that have nothing to do with porn. I wish the blocker were smarter and provided a way to whitelist specific sites or domains.

• Overzealous in blocking porn. It seems to filter out sites using a word search, with many of those words having fairly common usage in non-porn contexts. Other words that are nearly only used in the context of porn AREN'T blocked — maybe they're too niche for the app writer to be aware of? Would be good if there were a way to suggest words.
• Constantly blocks pages on Wikipedia and technical articles. As someone who browses Wikipedia a lot, this is really annoying. I'd love it if I could whitelist the domain.
• Blocks some sites that couldn't conceivably be considered porn. Articles, how-to guides, medical/health information, ... maps...

Great Solution For Christians Who Need A Filtering Solution

The Porn Blocker is a great app, because it impliments everything that Apple has failed to do over the years it has been in business. The restriction settings has always been, "You block all websites and apps, and even safari, and now you are porn free." But with this application, you are enabled to keep Safari on your device, instead of having to block it. This is a much better alternative than VPN (Virtual Private Network), which is what CircleGO uses (Which can be disabled) and even those "in-app" sonlutions like the covenant eyes app on ios, Mobicip, and K9. If you are wanting an easy solution to bring peace from not lookinging at porn, this is the app for you. I do hope that in the future, the developers of this app will expand the app to work on the root device, controling every app other than safari (Due to backdoors). But all in all, this is a much worth the money app that gets the job done.

Great app, great customer service.

This is a rewrite on a review I wrote on Feb 10. Upon first using Porn Blocker, I was aggravated with it blocking other safe sites and gave it a 3 star rating because it didn't have a whitelist. But I acted prematuratly. I contacted the developer about it, and he responded quite fast. He exlained that his app does have a whitelist by just contacting him and he will fix the accidentially blocked site. I sent him the link and it was done just like that. Fast. He also said that by having a whitelist, users can easily trick the app and their accountability partners. Made sense to me. The best thing is that Porn Blocker does exactly what its supposed to do. It blocks offensive sites extremely well. I used ios 10 restrictions to set up a password, blocked turning off and deleting the app and also used its own adult blocker just to make sure. It all went without a hitch. Thanks, Jonathan for a great app and great customer service.
