LOG OUT BEFORE YOU GET RID OF YOUR DEVICE!!!
It takes one small mind numbing thing to completely ruin an experience. I’ve been using this app ever since it came out but I’ve gone through a few mobile devices since then. Everything has been great until I’m on my brand new phone and I get an error saying something to the effect “Device limit of 7 reached. Please log out of a device to stream” ...or near that.. I figured I’d do like on Google, find a device list and just hit “log out” or “remove” .... NOOOOPE! After searching thru my own PS4 console and account settings and then the internet and not finding one thing on the subject, I finally contacted support thru chat and they told me I only had 2 options. The first, that I log out of the other devices. Well those devices are already gone, sold or recycled. My only option left: get an email sent to me with a link to click (do this on an actual computer, not mobile device) ...then sign into my account, click “account”, then “media and devices” and select “deactivate all” ... and once I’m done doing that, I need to wait up to 48 hours for a reply. SERIOUSLY?? PlayStation.... Sony... whoever’s reading this, that’s in charge of updates... hop on board and PLEASE just add a “REMOVE DEVICE” option in your PS Video app!
I’ve had this app on other phones and it is a really good app for watching movies and shows but recently I got a new phone and tried to sign in but it says I need to sign out on another device due to having a maximum of 7 other devices signed into the app. There’s no other way to sign in on this phone other than having to sign out one of the other devices but that’s a problem cause I can’t get to any of the other devices. There needs to be an option to sign out all the other devices cause this is ridiculous. I paid for these movies and now I can’t watch anything because I don’t have access to the other devices. Would rate higher if they fixed this big problem
Unable to watch my content
Unfortunately this app been a pain and honestly Sony or PlayStation could easily fix it. So basically I can’t watch any of my movies and tv shows because “I have reached the limit of 7 devices that are allowed to stream.” I have contacted customer support and they were no help at all. I did however deactivate all my devices and deactivated the “media and music” option too. That absolutely did nothing so now the only way I can watch my movies is through my PS4 which completely defeats the purpose of this app. If any app developers are reading this please please please remove this stupid feature. I’m not sure if it’s a security issue but it has to go asap
