Application to mirror the screen of your Mac to any LG Smart TV. No wires and no additional hardware needed! You can also stream individual video files from your Mac to your TV. Also, we included the option to watch one window on your Mac, and another window on your TV!
This works on any LG Smart TV from the 2012 models onwards. And the LG Home Theater System.
In using the app, there will be about 2 to 3 seconds of latency. So this mirroring is not suitable for gaming.
However, it is very suitable for watching movies, giving presentations, watching photos, and much more!
The quality of your experience will be dependent on the quality of your local network. Some tips to enhance the experience:
- Preferably, connect your TV by LAN cable to your router.
- Use an "ac" router. If you don't have one, then an "n" router.
- Try not to overload your wifi network by moving big files around while you are mirroring.
How the app works:
First, make sure that your LG TV is on the same local network and same subnet as your Mac. The TV should not be in screen mirroring mode, but just on "TV" Mode or any HDMI IN port.
After launching the app, you will see the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app will look for your TV on the network. It will show your TV when it has found it. Now, you have two options:
Mirror your Mac Screen:
Use this option to put the screen of your Mac on TV. In source, you can select which screen (or attached monitor) you want to display on TV. If you are running multiple applications on your Mac, you can also select which application window you want to see on TV.
Enable Sound: check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need the additional (free) audio driver, which you can download here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio
Play Video File:
Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play just the file on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.
Settings (the icon in the bottom right of the app): click here to request support from our 24/7 support staff. They usually respond within 2 hours on any query that you might have. If your question is technical, please also include the diagnostics information.
Limitations: Apple has HDCP DRM protection for playing iTunes movies. This means that screen mirroring is not possible when watching movies from iTunes.
When you like the app, please don't forget to give it a positive rating! Thanks in advance from the AirBeamTV development team!

Should not be paid for
Unfortunately I thought having a only 1 year old LG tv as well as a new mac book pro would resolve some of the issues mentioned in the other reviews like the developers mentioned. This was not the case. The latency is way too large to be able to mirror your screen for viewing video content, especially if you were hoping to extend your display like I was. I usually don't post reviews, but seeing as this app is $10, which I think should be refunded since it doesn't function in a usable state, I thought I would post this. This app is definitely not ready for production use especially for the price listed. The latency started off at about 8-10 seconds and just grew from there. My router is in the same room I am connecting over wifi too. It is very much a problem with the app.
Developer Response ,
Usually the latency on LG TV is between 3 - 4 seconds (depends on your TV model and network). This is due to the TV buffering behaviour that is unfortunately outside of our control. We are constantly researching ways to improve it. However, 8 - 10 second delay does not seem right. Please let the app mirror for 30 - 60 seconds. The latency would go down over time. If latency did not go down to 3 - 4 seconds, then please send us your diagnostic info from the app in that case, we will analyze what happens.
I read all the reviews before I purchased the app, and surely naively gave the benefit of the doubt out of desparation for the need to mirror my MacBook to tv. For real there's the longest lag to transfer data to tv, with so many times of good-few-seconds buffering while mirroring; before you know it, only after 10 minutes, there is a 5-minute gap between your actual monitor display and the mirrored one. And this gap will go on longer as time goes on.
Even a $0.99 is a true waste, let alone almost $10.
If this is not fraud, I don't know how else to describe this word for everyone.

Usually the latency on LG TV is between 1 - 3 seconds (depends on your TV model and network). This is due to the TV buffering behaviour that is unfortunately outside of our control. We are constantly researching ways to improve it. However, 5 minute delay is nearly impossible and something may be wrong. Please send us your diagnostic info from the app in that case, we will analyze what happens and help fix this.
Audio still streams from the main computer.
There is an 8-10 seconds delay and it only mirrors the screen, not the audio. Audio still streams from the computer and as you can imegine it is horrible for watching videos… I mainly use this to stream online courses so it has to be from the browser. I am waiting to hear back from the developer and if the issue is fixed I will send an update.
Developer Response ,
To be able to play audio on TV, you will have to install the AirBeamTV audio driver in the Mac. Have you done that already? If not, please click on 'How to enable audio on TV?'. If you have already done this, click on 'Enable sound on TV' in the app. This should allow you to play audio on TV.
If the problem persists, please contact us either via email (firstname.lastname@example.org), Facebook Messenger or through ‘send diagnostic information’ from the app. Our support team is available 24/7 and would be glad to help you get connected. Thanks!
