I live in ca and used to get a year long prescription for a small, reasonable 15 dollar fee and could pick it up the SAME DAY at the pharmacy. From this EXACT APP for 15 dollars a year! Now you have to wait a week for them to “conveniently ship for ‘free’” a $20(!!!!!) pack of birth control. $20 dollars a month for the pill??? Would have been nice to be informed that the cost would increase by a factor of SIXTEEN to $240 a year. No wonder people hate planned parenthood so much. What portion of their demographic can afford that? PP is a last resort for many girls, and when you go to them and they want a ton of money what do they expect us to do? 60 dollar appointment fee plus 20 per pack for a girl with no local health insurance who makes 400 take home each month? 60 dollars to talk to some RN if I’m lucky who takes my blood pressure and talks to me for 25 seconds? Who are you actually helping PP? Definitely not me!

To add insult to injury the app crashed five times before I was able to even see that it was 20/mo now.

I’ve been getting my birth control for the past 2 years through the app. It made it so much easier to just videochat with a doctor and then have my prescription mailed to me. I live in Alaska so the new updated version of the app is suddenly no longer available to me. Unfortunately for me I’m currently not in an area where I can actually go into one of their locations. Now I just have to go without. It’s a shame they suddenly don’t seem to care about availability anymore. I was hoping this would be fixed by the time I ran out, since I was told the new app wouldn’t change my ability to get birth control.

So, overall, i love the concept of this app where you just get birth control delivered to your door. It makes everything seem much easier and hassle free. The only downside is there’s just one location and it’s in California. It needs to be opened in many other states than just that. Once it’s more available to others, i will give it 5 stars.
