Off to a bad start

Signed up for the annual subscription and went to activate web protection and ad blocking per their directions and button wouldn’t slide to enable either. Turned phone off and on and still wouldn’t slide. Canceled shortly thereafter as not doing what they claim. iPhone 8 Plus with latest update.
UPDATE: Ok, you people are the best like your product. Everything is working now and I’ll be signing up for premium service. I don’t remember how long I’ve used Malwarebytes on my laptops/desktops, but it’s been the best ever without a doubt. That’s why I’m so glad that it’s finally available for iPhones.

Decent App

I’ve tried using the free version of the app, primarily the ad/malicious pop-up blocking feature, and it has worked in stopping most of these while I browse. The only downside to the free feature, is the lack of an ability to whitelist certain sites as it prevents them from generating ad revenue which is needed to maintain their servers. Hopefully such a feature is added soon for trustworthy and reliable sites to be able to continue to operate profitably. Otherwise, the app seems to off to a good start for the free functions at least.

Edit: the occasional malicious pop-up still has gotten through, so there are still flaws in the app.

Great Application! But I have a request!

Devin Chizmar

Is it possible (or even allowed by apple’s App Store guide lines), to add a feature that allows you to scan files downloaded from safari? Like you would download, then open in malware bytes and it would scan it and alert you if anything was found.

It may be a slim chance, but iOS can get malware, and it HAS happened. It would be great if we could see what files we are opening and know if they are dangerous to open or use.

Developer Response

Thanks for your kind words! Regarding malware scanning, Apple does not allow antivirus software on the iOS App Store, and there is no way to do a virus scan of an iPhone due to security restrictions in iOS.
