Genius Bar - Gone - App is useless without it

I rarely write reviews. But I needed to make a Genius Bar reservation today, and thought it would take me five minutes, which is what it has taken in the past. But I had an old version of the app, and it required me to update to the newest version before I could continue. This latest version no longer makes it possible (as far as I can tell) to make a Genius Bar reservation. After many false leads, I ended up in a chat with my initial problem and had the chat person set up the genius bar appointment for me, since I couldn't do it through the app OR on the website. Please - Bring back the ability to create, view and alter Genius Bar appointments. It was an extremely useful feature, and very easy to use. Something that should've taken me 5 minutes ended up taking about 30. What a waste of time.

OMG this is enough to look elsewhere

In our family we have 7 iPhones 6 Macbook Air laptops, 4 iPads, 3 iPad mini, 3 Apple TV and 1 iMac. I only use Microsoft products at work because I have to. Yes Apple products are good but it's the support that keeps us coming back. This new app has totally destroyed that. I have been trying for 2 days to figure out how to make a Genius Bar appt. What used to be a few intuitive Apple clicks on the Apple Store app is now a horrible experience that reminds me of using Windows 10 and Internet explorer. Did Apple gobble up some out of work Microsoft programmers to put together this new app. If this is the new Apple I will be reevaluating my next computer purchase and suggest all reevaluate their portfolios both computer and stock. Apple headed down is the next headline I'm expecting to see. Come on guys. Get it fixed. We're still here. For now.

Where to make a Genius Bar appointment???

Yet another HUGE mistake under the Tim Cook reign: cutting back on customer service. The previous version of this app's best feature was the easy ability to make an appointment at the Genius Bar. Now that feature is gone. Apple is apparently trying to shift customers away from having face to face support and would rather shift customers to online support. Really??? Given the fact that Apple products continue to lose ground to their competition in every category the one differential that keeps many of us loyal is the ability to realitivly easy was to meet with a friendly knowledgeable expert that fixes issues with the product. After nearly two decades as an Apple enthusiast I am getting ready to bounce to Samsung for my first non-Apple smartphone, especially if the 3.5 earphone jack disappears.
